Design Ideas for Everyone
Everyone has their own design preferences; some would like to have a fresh and modern feel while other would like to stick to the familiar comfort and charm of traditional designs. Most landscape design plans are subjective and depend entirely on the property owner’s taste. There are, however, some common themes that are popular:- Modern: The modern theme is very minimalistic and looks sleek, sophisticated and restrained. The feel of the landscape is generally very held back and elegant. With modern designs, less is always considered more. With hardscaping, modern design employs bluestone or concrete to create a stark, clean look and the plants that are grown to reflect the minimalistic theme. Modern designs are also a study of contrasts; so amongst clean grey lines, there’ll be a pop of color, bright and vibrant.
- Japanese: A larger number of people are opting for Japanese landscape design which adds an element of peace and harmony to your home. With Japanese landscapes, it is best to go with natural materials like stone and sand, and they should also be allowed to retain their original, organic shape and color. This theme is all about creating a serene, natural and harmonious space
- Tropical: This design theme focuses on bold colors, bright flowers and green grass. The intention is to create a space that feels like an oasis and most tropical landscape designs have a pool in them that just fits in beautifully with the scenery. This theme has become increasingly popular over the years.
- Traditional: Traditional designs are all about optimum utilization of the available space. These landscapes have herb gardens or grow small fruit and vegetable bearing plants. In paving, this theme uses traditional materials like brick or stone.
